Organizations are invited to sponsor the 89th ISO/IEC JTC1/SC29/WG11 (MPEG) Meeting, which will be hosted by the Centre for Digital Music, School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, Queen Mary University of London, Mile End Road, London, UK on 29 June - 3 July 2009.

Three hundred top audio and video experts from around the world are expected to join the meeting, representing more than 200 key international companies, and spanning all industry sectors with an interest in audio, video and multimedia.

Established in 1988, MPEG has developed an impressive portfolio of technologies in its 21 years of activity, that have created an industry worth several hundred billion dollars.

The MPEG experts group has produced:

  • MPEG-1, the standard on which such products as Video CD and MP3 are based,
  • MPEG-2, the standard on which such products as Digital Television set top boxes and DVD are based,
  • MPEG-4, the standard that made reality, music and video distribution on fixed and wireless networks, as well as high-definition television (HDTV),
  • MPEG-7, the standard for semantic audio/visual search and retrieval and,
  • MPEG-21 Multimedia Framework, enabling interoperable media value chains to be build.

In a world where information technology, consumer electronics and telecommunication products converge by incorporating increasingly sophisticated technologies, the need for timely available standards is as strong as ever. MPEG provides a proven mechanism to feed research results into standards that promote industry innovation for the benefit of all.

A range of sponsorship opportunities are available. These include subsidising delegates meeting fees (i.e. meeting facilities, lunches and coffees, social events), and funding morning or afternoon coffee breaks on one or more days, with the opportunity to display promotional material in the coffee area.

This is a unique opportunity for organisations to put their brand and logo in front of world’s experts.
